Check out some recipes that we love. Or some recipes that we scraped together from CSA leftovers. Either way...
On June 3rd I attempted the Cayuga Trail 50 again for the second time. This time I had hopes to actually finish, unlike last time when I knew it was a long shot.
I know we have been hibernating for the winter but what better way to come out of hibernation then a post on running. On March 25 I made the trip to Blain, PA to run my age in miles. This event is a fat ass race put on by a lovely gentleman by the name of Don.
This is for that weekend you only have 24 hours to get in as many peaks as possible with a short drive. The plan is to drive up Friday after work, stay at a the Woodland Valley Campground, run/hike the Slide, Cornell, Wittenberg loop (counter clockwise) and be back in Ithaca in time for dinner. No biggie just a quick micro-adventure. Who said you must have the whole weekend to get some fresh air and camp out are crazy folks.
Plan on visiting Ithaca? We have the all our favorite food and drink locations!
Three-day weekend obviously means we will be taking a trip, the question is where? The Adirondacks of course to get some more high peaks in was on the top of my list.
The plan of attack to get as much in during 7 days as possible!
I am a super crazy planner so when I decided to go to Utah for a week my type A personality came out in full. My itinerary has just about everything mapped out, however without ever going to Utah before I have a difficult time gauging distance between placed and road conditions. Here is the overview of my week, more specific trail info to come!
This race had been on my radar since I started trail running. This is my first encounter with ultra running/trail running…for me they go together. Read my earlier post Journey to Ultra for more info on this. But this post is about my love affair with Cayuga Trails 50 my first attempt.
Going sky diving has always been on my to do list but some how always gets pushed to the back burner in favor of other activities. This is until my niece Alex asks if I will go skydiving with her. We find a free weekend and I reserve our spots for Memorial Day. This weekend we are also building our deck. I spend both Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning working on this. We just take a little break to jump out of a plane.
This is so easy to make and is becoming my new favorite pasta salad. It isn’t barely even spring and not even summer yet and I have made it 2 times for grillin’ and chillin’ with friends.
I am currently having a clean out the refrigerator week so I am forced to be creative with the few things I have. Coming home from work I look in the fridge; I don’t have much. I look in the cabinet and the can of pineapple jumps out at me. From this discovery I will create a tasty healthy dish.
The only vegetables left in my crisper now is 4 stalks of kale, a jicama, and an avocado. Lets see what happens tomorrow.
Having recently cut out sugar from my diet this is a great treat that keeps me on track with my sugar consumption!
My recipe to keep you smelling great and not having a chemical shitstorm under your arms!
Everyone has had a strawberry banana smoothie but this one kicks it up a notch and I have for breakfast with my coffee about 3 times a week!
Everyone loves french toast, this is my twist to make the best french toast ever! I jazz my french toast up enough to make it brunch worth. My favorite meal!
Super yummy muffin that will give you energy all day and are easily packed to take anywhere! These are a must make and take for all my hiking trips!
If you can walk/run/bike/hike/whatever in your area, do it. Do it while you can and enjoy it, because who knows what tomorrow might bring. Just be smart, stay 6 feet apart, and keep training.
